Productivity—Friend or Foe?

My clients often come to me feeling bad about resting, taking breaks, & prioritizing their own needs.

Their need to be productive & to keep doing all the things has been their driving force for so long It’s also the most common reason for why they come to me for help —feeling depleted, stressed, & disconnected from themselves.

Here’s the thing though, who is the ambassador of productivity?? Like who created the rules that you need to be “this much” productive?

The truth is that your worth does NOT equal your output (thanks supremacist culture).

Working harder does not make you inherently any better —because you do NOT need to earn your worth or your goodness. You’re born with it.

Quality over quantity my friend. And how you create quality in your life is based on being attentive to your own needs & desires.

The more you beat yourself up for slowing down or resting, the less rested you’ll feel.

Sometimes you’ll feel like you need a break & don’t do the usual dishes, laundry, & want to just zone out on the couch.

And other times you’ll be an energizer bunny who just did 100 things in one day.

For exactly ALL of the time, no matter the scenario, you are whole & complete.

You also get to practice tuning into yourself & ask:

  • What do I have the energy for today?

  • What can I take off my plate?

  • What am I pulled towards & energized about?

  • What can wait?

  • Who can I delegate this to? What can I outsource?

The more you trust yourself that YOU know what’s best for you & adjust accordingly, the more in the flow of ease you’ll be.
